LST Marketing Acquires Dallas-based PPI Marketing

INDIANAPOLIS (June 13, 2017) – LST Marketing, LLC continues its growth through the acquisition of Dallas, Texas-based PPI Marketing, co-founded by Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, along with longtime business associate Roz Cole. The expanding business and Dallas operation will be rebranded as LST Marketing.

PPI Marketing cultivated a rich and extensive 24-year sports marketing history since its inception in 1993. Both Staubach and Cole will remain business partners in LST Marketing, with Cole serving in an advisory role to the company’s executives. Mark Winneker, former president of PPI Marketing, will also stay on as managing director of LST Marketing’s Dallas office.

LST Marketing focuses on the business goals of its clients through its expertise in strategic consulting, experiential activations, live event production, sponsorship strategy, sports and entertainment platforms, communications and celebrity talent integration – a new vertical by way of the PPI acquisition.

“It’s great to see the PPI staff seamlessly embrace LST Marketing, and I’m proud to remain involved in the company’s future,” Staubach said. “Roz has led the company to a point where we now are positioned to expand as an industry leader with LST Marketing.”

“It has been an amazing journey and I’m pleased to see the enthusiasm of our talented employees as they embark on the next chapter of our history with LST Marketing,” Cole said.

I’m ecstatic to move back to my hometown of Dallas.”

“Integrating the talented team members from both companies creates value and a deeper pool of resources for our clients,” said John Lopes, chief executive officer (CEO) of LST Marketing. “Starke and I truly appreciate Roz fostering the union of our two companies with expanded capabilities. Her staff has been amazing to work with and it’s an honor to partner with her and Roger. This opens up a whole new world of relationships for LST Marketing.”

Zirkle Joins LST Marketing as Chief Operating Officer

INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 22, 2016) – Wesley A. Zirkle, a global expert in brand activation, sports marketing and deal negotiations, is joining LST Marketing as chief operating officer as the Indianapolis-based company continues to expand its operations and client base.

Respected attorney and marketing professional Zirkle will be responsible for the business operations of LST Marketing and its various business units, including Finance, Legal, Events, Experiential Marketing, Communications, Facilities, and Sports & Entertainment Sponsorship Management. His leadership will foster growth initiatives and provide opportunity for LST Marketing to expand into new areas of business.

Wes Zirkle Zirkle joins LST Marketing after an esteemed, successful tenure of nearly 12 years as executive vice president & general counsel of Just Marketing Inc. (JMI) and as a member of the Board of Directors of the North American division of JMI’s parent company, CSM Sport & Entertainment.

He joined JMI in November 2004 and served as the company’s chief legal advisor throughout his tenure. He also served on JMI’s leadership team during its impressive growth period that included a round of private equity investment in 2008, culminating in the successful sale of JMI to London-based CSM in 2013.

“I have known John Lopes and Starke Taylor for years and have tremendous respect for them and LST Marketing,” Zirkle said. “While I am proud to have been an integral part of JMI’s impressive accomplishments over the years, I am genuinely excited by the way LST has uniquely positioned itself to service its clients in emerging marketing platforms that are noted as high-growth markets with significant barriers to entry.

“LST’s business plan reminds me of the way JMI positioned itself in the early 2000s to be the world leader in motorsports marketing before the sport became a sponsorship juggernaut. Similarly, LST is poised to be the leader of several new marketing platforms with positive momentum. I am delighted to apply what I have learned during my 15-year career to position LST as an international leader in innovative marketing solutions.”

Zirkle’s achievements at JMI helped him to earn honors in 2014 from the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 program, which recognizes Central Indiana professionals who have become leaders in their respective fields before their 40th birthday. The Indianapolis Bar Association also honored Zirkle in 2011 with the President’s Award for Service to the Profession by co-founding and sustaining The Racing Attorney Conference (TRAC), an international organization dedicated to furthering learning and cooperation among attorneys working in the motorsport industry.

Before joining JMI, Zirkle worked as an attorney for nearly five years at CMG Worldwide, a leading intellectual property management and marketing agency representing icons such as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Chuck Berry, George Patton and the I Love NY trademark.

“Wes Zirkle is one of the most accomplished, respected professionals and keen minds in global marketing,” LST Marketing CEO John Lopes said. “His vast experience working with multinational firms to find solutions to complex business challenges will be a huge plus for LST Marketing and our clients as we expand partnerships with a growing portfolio of international brands.”

Said Starke Taylor, president of LST Marketing: “Everyone associated with LST Marketing benefits from the addition of Wes Zirkle to our leadership team. Wes is someone we’ve wanted to bring into LST Marketing for a long time, and his experience elevates our day-to-day operations.”

Zirkle is a member of various associations and boards, including the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Sports & Entertainment Executive Committee and the United Methodist Foundation of Indiana, for which he serves as vice-chair, responsible for leading and implementing its strategic plan. Zirkle also served as an adjunct professor of law at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he taught Contract Drafting. He is actively involved with the IUPUI Sports Innovation Institute, and he frequently speaks at law schools and seminars about sports marketing and intellectual property.

Northern Indiana native Zirkle received his law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2001. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Religion with a minor in Economics from Wabash College in 1998. He studied Comparative Religion at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland in 1997.

Zirkle resides in Fishers, Indiana, with his wife, Jennie, and their three children.

The hiring of Zirkle is an important milestone in the aggressive, strategic growth this year of LST Marketing. The company is pursuing talented, creative professionals for a variety of roles to accommodate its rapidly expanding client base in marketing and communications. Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment Establishes Partnership with Grand Park

Company to manage commercial business, marketing of  Grand Park Events Center

WESTFIELD, Ind. (April 26, 2016) – Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment, LLC today announced it entered a multi-year partnership with the City of Westfield, Indiana, to manage the commercial business and marketing of the Grand Park Events Center, set to open in July 2016.

Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment will manage all aspects of the Grand Park Events Center business, including event scheduling, sponsorship coordination, consumer marketing, special event production, communications, activation logistics, account services and vendor procurement.

Grand Park Events Center

Grand Park Events Center is one of the centerpieces of the 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus, located just 20 miles north of downtown Indianapolis. The facility will feature three full-sized indoor soccer fields, a restaurant and administrative offices. It also includes multi-use space for trade shows, live entertainment, conventions and special event programming, including large indoor sports events in the massive, 370,000 square-foot facility.

“Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment is honored to extend Byrd Enterprises’ commitment to the City of Westfield by managing the Grand Park Events Center,” Byrd Enterprises, Inc. President Ginny Byrd said. “The facility is located within one of the largest amateur sporting complexes in the world and is a popular hub for family-friendly sports competition, entertainment and business activity for groups traveling to Westfield from across America.”

Byrd Enterprises’ portfolio of companies includes Jonathan Byrd’s Hospitality and Restaurant Group, a 28-year-old, family-owned company that provides family dining experiences plus catering services. Byrd Enterprises announced in November 2015 the expansion of its business to include Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment. The Byrd family’s focus was to grow a new business and become a regional leader in event management by expanding pre-existing relationships in catering and hospitality.

The City of Westfield will continue to have a large role in the overall strategy for the Grand Park Events Center.

“This partnership with Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment makes perfect sense for the Grand Park Events Center,” Westfield Mayor Andy Cook said. “With their strong background in catering and large-scale events, they bring a wide range of expertise to the facility.”

Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment is operated and co-owned by Byrd Enterprises’ marketing partner, Indianapolis-based LST Marketing.

“LST Marketing is proud of its association with Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment and the City of Westfield in this unique public-private endeavor,” LST Marketing CEO John Lopes said. “Grand Park is among the most impressive sports facilities in the United States.”

In addition to its management of the Grand Park Events Center, Jonathan Byrd’s Event & Entertainment also will manage special events at Grand Park and provide various logistics and event production services to all Grand Park constituents.

Grand Park Sports Campus

Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana, is a destination like no other. The thoughtfully designed 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus features 26 baseball and softball diamonds, 31 multipurpose fields for soccer, football, and lacrosse. The Grand Park Events Center will open in summer 2016, featuring three full-sized indoor soccer fields, a restaurant, administrative offices and facilities to host major events. The Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse indoor basketball facility opened in January. Grand Park also features an abundance of green space and more than 10 miles of pedestrian/bicycle trails, including the largest trailhead on the Monon Corridor.

More than 1.5 million sports visitors are projected to participate in or attend tournaments and events at the Grand Park Sports Campus on an annual basis, making the surrounding area a prime location for economic development. The master plan outlines approximately 1,400 acres of land available for residential and commercial development including hospitality (hotel, restaurant and retail), mixed-use, life science and corporate office uses.
